Predict Your Future By Creating It!

Everyone would like to be able to predict their future, especially their business future. However, the only way to do that is to CREATE it yourself! How? By learning to map out your direction, build your team, market your products and how and when to expand. Some areas you need to obtain skills in are… Focus, balance, getting clear about your intentions, negotiation and leadership.

First of all, learning to control your FOCUS is key. By doing this, you instantly change the quality of your life. Remember, we get what we focus on, and that determines how we feel. Whatever you are succeeding or failing at right now, no matter what it is, is largely a reflection of what you are focusing on in these areas of your life. And it may be that you are NOT focusing at all! If you are unbalanced in your focus and it's all going in one area, other areas of your life will suffer. This is where the balance comes in.

For instance, if all you ever do is work, then your family or other relationships will be affected. Are you taking care of your body, but not your spiritual needs? Are you focused on marketing, but not looking at your business finances? It doesn't matter if you are stressed or fulfilled in what you do. It's the results you are producing that's important. So, it's just a matter of where your putting your focus and is it balanced?

Focus is very POWERFUL. It can change the way we think, feel and what we do in any given moment. What we focus on will determine the course of our direction. The other areas of sales techniques, negotiation and leadership skills are important, but if you don't MASTER the skill of focus, you won't master these other things.

In a world where people pride themselves on multi-tasking, it becomes difficult to focus on one thing long enough to get a desired outcome. It takes PRACTICE! Start training yourself to do one thing at a time until it's done. Having too many projects going at one time that are not being completed leads to frustration. Master the skill of focus in mundane things as well as your business plan and goals. You will be surprised at the outcome!

 Abundantly,

Carol Wickett

    Carol:

    Very well written Post.

It seems at 1st in My Home Based IM Business my efforts were ‘scattered’ all over the place & I made little progress, only when I took the time to learn a few skills ONE at a TIME thru FOCUS (as you have written about so well!) did I begin to pick up traction & some success.

Thank You for sharing this It really needes to be heard!

Carol, I think that balance is one area I struggle the most. I love my work!!!!!! and often times I find myself doing it all the time, but I have small children that need me as well. In essence my children are here to teach me how to balance work and family and although I love what I do learning to balance it is also important!

    Hey Carol,

This reminds me of the book “The Power of Focus” by Jack Canfield. This helped me to work through some of the issues I had in the past of being able to focus. I still get out of balance sometimes and I in some cases that is ok when you are working towards a specific goal but if it persists then that is where the challenges will come into your life.

    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    The GREAT Edward!
