We all have goals about a lot of things or we should have, especially if we have a business. But sometimes the goals are not well defined. Therefore your results will not be specific.

So here is a list of Seven Steps to assist in Achieving your Goals from some notes I took listening to Tony Robbins a few years ago.

Step 1 – Get Clear. What do you love about your business? What don't you like? What would you like to improve? What have you accomplished up to this point? What are some things you would like to continue to do in your business? What don't you want to have happen again? What's challenging and what have you learned by going through these experiences? And why were they valuable? What empowering decisions have you made? What decisions can you continue to make?

Step 2 – Get Certain Write down any of your goals, dreams and desire, big or little that you have achieved. Circle the 2 or 3 items on your list that seemed the most difficult or impossible for you to achieve. Then for those 2 or 3 items write down the steps you took to turn them into reality.

Step 3 – Get Excited Write down every goal you'd like to accomplish in the next 12 months in your business. Things that you would like to do, be, share, have, create, enjoy, learn, give or experience. It can be personal development, relationships, physical, financial, or anything else. Don't put any limits on your dreams. Write without lifting your pen for 10 minutes. Then write the number of months next to each goal it will take to achieve it.

Step 4 – Get Focused Circle your top four one month goals.

Step 5 – Get Committed For each of your top four one month goals, write a paragraph about why they are "musts" for you to achieve. What are the things that need to be done, that you may not want to do, in order to achieve these goals?

Step 6 – Get Momentum Choose one small thing you will do now. And ask yourself what one big thing you resolve to do immediately to achieve this goal.

Step 7 – Get Smart Set up a way to measure your progress. Without a way to measure your progress, it's not really a reality. Start today and let me know how this works out for you. Personally, it was a big help to me.

I believe true success means fulfillment!

Do you remember the movie "City Slickers?" Billy Crystal and two cohorts are about to celebrate turning 40. They are talking about and searching for the meaning of life. In one scene Billy says to a classroom full of young people, "Value this time in your life kids. This is the time when you still have your choices. It goes by so fast. When you are a teenager, you think you can do anything and you do. Your 20's are a blur, 30's raise your family. You make a little money. You say to yourself, "What happened to my 20's?" "40's grow a pot belly: grow another chin. Music starts to get too loud. One of your old girlfriends from high school becomes a grandmother. 50's you have minor surgery, you call it a procedure, but it's surgery. 60's you have a major surgery, the music is still too loud, but it doesn't matter because you can't hear it anyway. 70's you and your wife retire to Fort Lauderdale. You start eating your dinner at 2 0'clock in the afternoon. You have lunch at 10 and breakfast the night before. You spend most of your time wondering in the Mall looking for the ultimate soft yogurt and muttering 'How come the kids don't call?' The 80's you will have a major stroke. You end up babbling to a Jamaican nurse your wife can't stand, but you call Momma. Any questions?"

How pitiful! But so true most of the time! This surely DOES NOT describe a truly successful, fulfilled life!

True success means fulfillment. In every area of life, people choose to enjoy success. Yes, in EVERY area from family and spiritual to career and finances, we all DESIRE to be fulfilled and prosper.

So why don't we? We fail to INTENT our life to be fulfilled. We let life just happen to us! TODAY is the day for INTENTION! Your intention precedes ACTION. Because what you think BEFORE you DO… Changes the DOING or action. The intention coupled with action results in enjoying a life of purpose and meaning. You will live to learn and learn to live!

So don't wait another day day! Make your intention this very day to fill your life with people, happiness, joy, gratitude, and abundance. Don't wait till you are up in years and then look back with regret, (if you even live that long). Then, take action and share with others your dreams and desires. Help them find theirs as well, so neither you nor they will end up like Billy Crystal and his two co-horts in the movie "City Slickers." Yes, true success means fulfillment!

Do you smell like a seller?

I think we probably ALL have at one time or another and maybe didn't realize it.

You may be asking, "So what does a seller smell like"?

Have you noticed when you start talking to a prospect they either move TOWARDS you…

or AWAY from you?

Why?

People can tell if you are genuinely interested in THEM and what they want and need or…

if you just want to tell them about your product or biz-op.

Putting yourself in the shoes of the consumer is key.

I know for instance how I feel when I visit a car dealership if the salesperson immediately

approaches me as though I am a sale rather than finding out how they can help me.

If that happens, even if I was ready to buy then, I probably would not.

There is a saying you may have heard…

"Everyone likes to BUY, but no one likes to be SOLD"!

And how true that is! We all feel that way.

Most people run from SELLER TALK.

It's like your words suddenly give you BO or a severe case of BAD BREATH.

And none of us want to be known as someone who has BO…

So, what are some of the SCENTS or SIGNS of a SELLER?

1. Speaking in generalities. Your words and phrases don't speak to anyone in particular. Vague phrases like natural health, communication systems, weight loss programs, or reduce cell phone bills does not target a specific enough person and quite frankly can be boring. Generalities gets no ones attention, leaves no impression and so no one buys!

2. Speaking shop-talk. You know the techno-babble we all are taught about our products, such as patented, scientifically proven nutraceuticals, technical product names and company information that no one cares about. Your prospect will glaze over with this kind of talk. What they want to know is what will your product or service do for them. Sharing your heartfelt STORY instead of company lingo they don't understand or care about will go much farther.

3. Hype. Making inflated, excessive or unbelievable claims which are NOT going to be believed anyway. Being enthusiastic about recommending a restaurant simply because you like it, feels quite different to someone than if you stand to make a commission. Making money automatically means you have a hidden agenda to most people. So, don't exaggerate!

So, what is the point of all this?

Be real, authentic and genuine.

Know who your people are and focus on helping them get what they want.

Make that your agenda and you will not SMELL LIKE A SELLER!

Do you ever have times when you just feel overwhelmed?

That feeling of having too much to do and not enough time to do everything.

In today’s world it’s very easy to feel that way and I think most people has struggled with that from time to time. Let’s face it, we are a BUSY society. We have a lot on our plates, especially if you have a young family coupled with all the other responsibilities that go with it.

What can you do when that feeling comes upon you?

I certainly have had my share of times feeling overwhelmed.

So here are my 5 tips I use to BEAT that OVERWHELMED FEELING!

1. I find it helps to take just a few minutes (because we are all busy) and find a quiet place and just BE with myself. It gets you away from the constant noise of life and serves to ground you.
Sometimes we become so busy we lose sight of what’s really important. This also helps you reconnect with your priorities.

2. I grab a note pad and start writing down all the things I have to do and the feelings and frustrations I have about it. When you put things down on paper it actually tells your mind it can rest, so you are not CONSTANTLY thinking about it.

3. I focus on what I have already accomplished and the good feeling it gives me. This encourages me to keep on track with things that need to be done because I have already proved to myself that I can do it.

4. I take a break and do something I enjoy. For instance, it may be going for a walk, listening to music, going out to lunch at a favorite place, or calling a friend to say hello. It recharges me so that I am ready to tackle the tasks at hand.

5. I make sure I smile and laugh a lot. Lightening up this way keeps me a on a positive note so things don’t feel so overwhelming.

I hope you will try my suggestions!

Leave me your comments and let me know what YOU do to cope with that overwhelmed feeling. I would love to hear from you!

So, you think it's about money.

Or the dream house or vacation, the fancy car, yacht or whatever else money can buy. But is that really what you're after? Or is it a FEELING?

I was talking to my daughter Robin and she mentioned that her dream is to live in NYC. She has had that dream since she was about 10, as a result of a trip we took there. And she was awe struck! A FEELING that she would say is hard to explain. Robin likes life SIMPLE but exciting. She likes nice things, but doesn't put importance on that. She will say it's the FEELING that matters.

How you feel is everything! Some people get caught up in thinking they need money or things to feel good. We live in a society that teaches you are not really any body without it, whether on a conscious or subconscious level. We all need and are after the same basic feelings. To feel loved, appreciated, heard, that we matter, and that we make a difference somehow. We get in touch with these feelings through our dreams!

But DON'T wait until your dream comes true to have the feeling. Get into the feeling of having it NOW. Because you are who you are without money! And the bottom line is… You can be LOVED without money. You can be APPRECIATED without money. You can feel HEARD without money. You can feel that you MATTER and make a DIFFERENCE without money. Money is just a vehicle. Do we need it? YES! But getting it confused with our feelings and basic emotional needs spell failure. This is a major reason we DON'T realize our dreams!

So separate your feelings and dreams from money. Money will only give you things! Your dreams will validate the FEELINGS you desire. So go after your dreams, and money will follow!

Habits!

We all have them. You know, those things we do so CONSISTENTLY it becomes automatic!

Habits control almost everything, including your BUSINESS SUCCESS! About 90% of your current behavior is based on habits. Now don't get me wrong, certain habits are good and we need them. But everything is relative. Like brushing your teeth, for instance. Most everyone would say that's a good habit.

But if you only brushed the teeth you wanted to keep, you may not like the outcome later. Every habit has a consequence whether good or bad! There is a saying and I know you have heard it… "If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got".

So your choices of habits control your success. The good news is that habits can be CHANGED and new habits can be LEARNED. And I need to point out here that GOOD INTENTIONS don't count. Thinking good intentions can actually be a habit… But unless they are backed by effective action, they are USELESS! If your business is not going in the direction you want it to go… you can learn new habits to change your business results! So, what you need to know is… what's working and what's not working in your business.

So make a list of the habits you do daily that support your business and those that don't. For instance… Are you in the habit of having regular hours to work on your business? Are you in the habit of having a Daily Method of Operation (the list of things you need to do everyday) in place to go by? If you don't have a DMO, then you need to take that step. And I would be happy to help you with that if you need it. Are you in the habit of consistently using your Daily Method of Operation?

These are just a couple questions to help you get started. If you feel the habits you have are not serving you and producing results… decide what NEW habits you need to activate. The first month or so your new BEHAVIOR will be tough, and you may resort to backsliding. But that's ok. Just pick yourself up and recommit to the new habit. The more you do that, the easier it will become. And you will be on your way to habits that control your business successfully!

To your success!

I am absolutely having FUN promoting my business!

But not in a buy-my-stuff way.

I have done lots of home and restaurant meetings in the past 7 years but…

Last night was my FIRST conference call.

And we had so much FUN!

Sharing our stories and encouraging each other all wrapped up in HUMOR.

I told my group to invite newbies that has shown interest.

But NOT so we can SELL them.

We are not worried if they join our company or not…

We LOVE what we have…

We LOVE what we do…

We LOVE to share our stories…

And we know we aren’t for EVERYONE.

If it turns out to be for them…GREAT.

If not…GREAT.

We got to spend a little time with them and show them some love and attention.

They got a chance to know us better.

And more importantly, they get to see our PASSION and how much we CARE.

No hype and no pitch!!!

Just FUN and LOVE!

So, my question is…

Are you having a GOOD time doing what you’re doing?

Are you having FUN?

Can people see that about you?

If your answer is YES…

You WILL attract a crowd.

People love to FOLLOW people

having a good time!

So get out there and have FUN today

Because when you LOVE what you do

It’s not WORK

It feels like PLAY!

Here’s a SIMPLE question for you…

Are you WILLING to pay the price for success?

There is a price to be paid for EVERYTHING!

It’s a FACT of LIFE!

We pay a price to be a success or failure in business, to have a good or bad marriage, to have good or poor health, to have either loving, peaceful relationships or have stressful, chaotic relationships, etc.

So, if you are NOT willing to pay the price for success, you WILL pay the price for failure!

It surprises me how many people are oblivious to CHANGE, or they hate change.

They get all upset when change happens…they can’t handle it.

They fail to realize change is part of life and the ONLY constant in life is change!

My dad use to say, “nothing stays the same”.

I didn’t realize how true that is until I grew up.

How many people do you hear talk about changing their circumstances but…

do nothing to change THEM SELF?

For instance, they say they choose to make more money, but REFUSE to work more.

It’s impossible to earn $100,000 a year while continuing to do the same things you do to earn $25,000 a year. It’s not going to happen. You have to become the person it takes to earn $100,000 a year.

External things don’t change until YOU change the internal things.

The things inside your mind and heart.

Too many people sit around not realizing the way we think causes most of our challenges.

How do you respond to life’s daily challenges?

Be honest with yourself about what you can BE and ACHIEVE right now.

Then take the ACTION steps to be and achieve it!

In other words, you must you start paying the price .

Many won’t like it and won’t take the action because it will yank them out of their
COMFORT ZONE!

That’s WHY people hate change and would rather choose to keep paying the price for comfort, which usually means failure!

But when the comfort finally becomes the UNCOMFORTABLE, that’s when you will say it’s enough.

That’s what happened to me. I was tired of being in the same place to the point of being uncomfortable. That motivated me to action, and yes a different feeling of uncomfortable.
But the benefits of paying the price for success in life far outweigh the temporary discomfort of change. I have learned over the years that you can get use to anything if you make up your mind to.

So what price have you been paying and what price are you going to keep paying?

That really is the question!

Every Day Brings A New Opportunity

What does that really mean?

How many times have you said things like…

Today’s a new day or…

Today is the first day of the rest of my life?

Most people have. But have you actually thought that Every Day Brings a New Opportunity…

But only if we choose!

It means we have the opportunity to TRANSFORM our lives in such a way that it will touch everyone we meet.

Every encounter with a stranger is a chance to help them in some way, BIG or small.

Choose to RECOGNIZE that and take advantage of it.

Because STRANGERS are really just FRIENDS we haven’t met yet!

Every day brings an opportunity to CHANGE the quality of not only our life, but that of others.

To live a life of PURPOSE.

And it begins with ACTION!

Living a life of purpose means every action we take is the result of a CONSCIOUS choice.

To achieve and MANIFEST an extraordinary quality of life, we need to ask…

what actions are we WILLING to take on a DAILY basis?

If you have ever said…

It’s time to make a CHANGE in my life, but never DID it…

It’s time to STEP UP!

It’s time to make your word a LAW unto yourself.

If you SAY it, then DO it!

Recognize and be aware of what you CHOOSE and WHY.

What is the emotional purpose that drives and compels you to persevere through ANY obstacle even before you figure out what you need to do?

Are you COMMITTED to achieve it?

What is your PLAN for Life?

Know it like the back of your hand.

REHEARSE, EAT and SLEEP it everyday.

If you don’t know your plan for LIFE…

you will not see that every day brings a new opportunity…

therefore, you will not have a plan to truly succeed in anything!

Because every plan CONCEIVABLE all comes under your “Life Plan”…

and the ability to see that Every Day Brings A New Opportunity!

Be sure to get on my list for more success tips, updates and goodies!

The day you abandon letting other people tell you that you need to “duplicate” a system to be successful in business, is the day you will “find your own way to success.”

Duplication is not a “one size fits all” even though that’s what we are taught, especially in network marketing.

Everyone has their own unique personality. What is comfortable for one, may not be for another. Some people would rather die (so to speak) than do cold calling leads. Some people have anxiety over speaking in front of a group. That’s just two examples.

When you find your passion, then you also need to find the way to share that passion that feels good to you. And it won’t be duplicatable!

Why?

Because there is only ONE you. And no one else can be you!

Two people can say or even do the same thing, but it will feel different to different people. But, if you share your passion in a way that feels good and comfortable to you, and just be yourself, you will attract the right people for you!

There are a lot of ways to communicate and get your message out to people. Explore them all and you will find what’s best for you.

One of my teachers said, “There is no right way and there is no wrong way. There is only your way!” And when you find it….success follows.

So ditch the duplication mold others want you to fit in and “find your own way to success.”
