Are People Flocking Around You?

The most powerful force in business is word of mouth. And who doesn't want people "flocking" around them? If people know, like, trust and have a good experience with you (or hear about it from someone else) they promote you and do business with you.

How do you get people to flock around you? Big companies do it with things like logos and huge dollar marketing efforts. But you don't need a multi-million dollar marketing budget to draw a crowd. What you do need is some effective communicate skills and a creative, thoughtful approach to deliver your message.

If you deliver an interesting message with authentic and genuine motives you are going to have people flock to you. So what comes to mind when people hear your name? Or see you? What do they remember about you after a conversation or presentation? Every avenue you use to communicate, whether it's face to face conversations, emails, presentations or phone calls, all send messages about you.

When you communicate, do you have something significant to share? Are you easy to understand? Do people pay attention when you speak? The way you deal and communicate with people builds your reputation. In turn, your reputation should stand for something of value and serve to… Build trust.

Motivate people to speak positively about you to others and promote you. Create business opportunities. If you want to start getting more people to flock around you, start speaking up more. Public speaking at Toastmasters or Rotary Clubs, or Chambers of Commerce is a great way to do this offline. Writing articles or blog posts, and shooting videos giving relevant information are ways to speak up online. So, start sending strong, positive and attractive signals that cut through all the chatter out there today and you will have people flocking around you.

    Carol as always you are right on target with great tips for people to follow to get themselves heard. Drawing a crowd is simple when you have the formula – like you discuss here. Thank you thank you thank you for your advice, noted and we will work on expanding our flocks ;D

    Great topic! Being authentic and open while being clear about your message is very important. I like your ideas to head off line to build a base there too. I’m actually getting the ball rolling for just that! I must have “read” your thoughts today. LOL

    Yes Carol and you are doing a great job. It’s not that hard to get noticed out there because there isn’t as many people speaking from the heart as there should be.

    Hey Carol,

    Excellent message. We need to find places in all areas of our lives to share our word and positive energy. I find too many people just focus on one area. If you really want to get the word out and create a huge following you need to propagate your message to as many places as you can.
